Cork engineered for functional applications

Cork and cork composites offer different combinations of lightness, compressibility, thermal insulation and vibration damping. By selecting the material and geometry for each application, these properties can be incorporated into functional parts and assemblies.

At 3DCORK, we develop and manufacture technical components from drawings, samples or performance requirements, supporting projects from material selection and prototyping through to serial production.

Possible applications

  • Rings, washers, spacers and support pads;

  • Protective inserts, buffers and contact surfaces;

  • Handles, grips and equipment interfaces;

  • Components for thermal insulation and vibration damping;

  • Housings, supports and positioning elements;

  • Custom parts integrated into assemblies with other materials.

Materials and technical specifications

Density, cork granule size, composition, thickness and geometry are selected according to the intended function and operating conditions.

We assess dimensions, tolerances, holes, recesses, contact areas and assembly requirements. Cork can also be combined with rubber, foams, metals or other materials where additional properties or fixing methods are required.

Developed for the intended conditions

We consider the loads, compression, friction, temperature and exposure conditions relevant to each project. Material suitability and performance requirements are assessed for the specific application.

Prototypes and samples support fit and functional checks before production. Validation criteria and inspection requirements are agreed as part of the development process.

From development to production

We combine moulding, CNC machining, cutting, turning and finishing according to the material, geometry and production volume.

Once the specifications are approved, manufacturing follows defined quality controls, including dimensional and visual checks, supported by production traceability.

Discuss your technical requirements

Share your drawing, sample or specification, together with the operating conditions and estimated quantities. Our team will help assess the material and manufacturing options for your component.
